1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that the websites you visit send to your device, where they are stored to be sent back to those same websites on your next visit. Similar technologies (such as local storage) are subject to the same rules. Cookies may be "first-party" (set by the website being visited) or "third-party" (set by a different domain), and are divided into technical cookies (necessary) and profiling cookies.
2. Types of cookies used by this website
This website uses only necessary technical cookies. It does not use profiling cookies, advertising cookies, tracking pixels or social media cookies.
a) First-party technical cookies
Essential to the proper functioning of the website and to providing the services requested by the user (managing the session, the shopping cart, account authentication, preferences and security). They do not require consent pursuant to Art. 122 of Legislative Decree 196/2003. Legal basis: Art. 6.1.f GDPR (legitimate interest in ensuring the website works).
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| PrestaShop-* | Managing the session, shopping cart, authentication and preferences | Session / up to ~20 days | Technical, 1st party |
| PHPSESSID | Server session identifier | Session | Technical, 1st party |
| poscookielaw | Stores acknowledgement of the cookie notice | ~1 month | Technical, 1st party |
b) Third-party technical cookies necessary for payment (Stripe)
During the purchase process, the payment service provider Stripe sets technical cookies necessary to process the transaction securely and to prevent fraud. These cookies are strictly necessary to perform the service explicitly requested by the user (payment) and therefore do not require prior consent. Stripe (Stripe, Inc.) is based in the United States: any non-EU data transfers are governed by adequacy decisions of the European Commission or by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), pursuant to Arts. 44 et seq. GDPR.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| __stripe_mid | Fraud prevention — transaction identifier | ~1 year | Technical, 3rd party |
| __stripe_sid | Fraud prevention — payment session | ~30 minutes | Technical, 3rd party |
c) Statistics (Matomo)
The website uses a statistics platform (Matomo) hosted on the Data Controller's own infrastructure within the European Union, configured in a way that does not use cookies and with IP address anonymisation. Statistics are collected in aggregate and anonymous form, without user profiling and without transferring data to third parties. For this reason, no consent is required.
3. No profiling or third-party marketing cookies
The website does not install profiling cookies, advertising cookies, tracking pixels or social media cookies. There is therefore no tracking activity that would require the user's prior consent.
4. Web fonts and other services
For typographic rendering, the website uses the Google Fonts service, which does not install cookies but does involve the transmission of the user's IP address to Google's servers. For details on this processing and the related transfers, please refer to the Privacy Policy.
5. Managing cookies through your browser
You can manage, restrict or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Please note that disabling technical cookies may impair the proper functioning of the website and of certain features (e.g. the shopping cart, customer account and payment). Instructions for the most common browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Microsoft Edge.
6. Processing of personal data
For all information regarding the processing of personal data collected through the website, the recipients of the data and the rights of the data subject, please refer to the Privacy Policy.
7. Rights of the data subject and complaints
You may exercise the rights provided for under Arts. 15-22 GDPR by writing to ufficio@smgroup.info. You may also lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, www.garanteprivacy.it).
